WDI trades trailer art contest
Michigan AFL-CIO Workforce Development Institute's Trades Trailer Decal High-School Art Competition
Calling all 9th-12th grade artists!
We need your help with creating artwork for the outside of an exhibit trailer! This interactive outreach trailer will travel across the state of Michigan, visiting high schools, colleges and big events to inform the next generation about trade careers in renewable and alternative energy, battery/EV manufacturing, construction, and water infrastructure. The trailer use hands-on exhibits to showcase new and emerging career paths.
So what's the vision?
The vision for the Trades of Today and Tomorrow trailer will display a vibrant vinyl wrap on the side of the trailer, which could include elements such as diverse individuals in the workforce, hardhats and tools, cultural landmarks in the state of Michigan and a message of strength, hope, fulfillment and solidarity.
What's the prize?
We are calling on all 9th-12th grade students to take on this art challenge and bring WDI's vision to life! The winner will receive a $5,000 award to be used for secondary school, college, or tools for success AND will be recognized as the artist on the trailer's exterior. The runner-up will receive a $2,500 award to be used for trade school, college, professional development, and other tools for success.
